COURSE   DESCRIPTION

This course consolidates basic electronic principles and concepts into applications for the design and operation of more sophisticated systems.  Emphasis is placed on how the basic building blocks in electronics are used in applications such as communications systems: telephony, cable television networks, wireless communications networks (single channel, multi-channel, cellular); microwave back-haul radio links; satellite communications systems and networks.

An electronic project serves as a main component around which Lab Exercises are developed to demonstrate and reinforce theory.

The course will also provide an introduction to the practical applications of the Microcontroller in electronic circuits and systems.

In general, this course seeks to provide a bridge between the theory of basic electronic circuitry and practical applications as may be expected in a career in industry.
