COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to teach students the historical, technical, and foundational skills that will prepare them for the constant cyclical changes in hair designs and fashion. In addition, it will enable students to articulate creativity and deliver a specific outcome desired by the client.

COURSE OBJECTIVES/LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
• List the five basic elements of hair design
• List the principles of hair designed
• Recognize various facial shapes
• Demonstrate finger wave, pin curls, and hair wrapping techniques
• Execute various blow-dry styling techniques
• Master the proper use of thermal irons
• Describe the three types of hair pressing
• Demonstrate the procedures for soft pressing and hard pressing
• Design three basic techniques of styling long/short hair/Natural/Chemically treated

Introduction:

Welcome to Haircutting. My name is Mrs. Charlene Woods your course instructor. I am a cosmetologist and educator. I hold a Bachelors's and a Master's degree in the Art and Science of Cosmetology. With 21 years of industry experience, I enjoy being an instructor and being able to introduce others to the world of cosmetology.
