Microbiology
Microbiology is the branch of science that studies living organisms, known as microbes or microorganisms, that are too small to be seen with the naked eye. Microorganisms exist everywhere and are generally classified as bacteria, viruses, fungi protozoa, or algae. They exist in a variety of shapes and sizes, serve different functions, and require magnification to be seen. Microorganisms that are capable of causing infectious diseases in plants or animals are called pathogens. This text focuses on the more common microbial forms that will be of interest to you and your work in the barbershop.
